Carmine’s ‘Q’d Balls o’Meat

Ingredients
- 680 g (1 1/2 lb) ground beef
- 5 ml (3/4 cup) oats
- 250 ml (1 cup) milk
- 125 ml (1/2 cup) finely minced onion, divided
- 5 ml (1 1/2 tsp) salt
- Fresh ground black pepper, to taste
- 250 ml (1 cup) all-purpose flour
- Canola oil, for browning
- 375 ml (1 ½ cups) Carmine’s ‘Q Sauce
- 125 ml (1/2 cup) beef stock
Directions
- Preheat oven to 350°F.
- In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, oats, milk, 3 tablespoons of onion, salt, and pepper. Roll into medium-small balls and place on a baking sheet. Place the sheet in the freezer for 5 minutes.
- Remove the meatballs from the freezer and immediately dredge in the flour.
- In a skillet, heat a few tablespoons of canola oil over medium heat.
- Fry the meatballs until just brown. Place into a baking dish.
- In a bowl, combine Carmine’s ‘Q Sauce, water and remainder of minced onions; pour over the meatballs and bake for 45 minutes.
